| Hey everyone, I was just looking through all of our blogs and thought I would just remind everyone to try to keep their blog's as private as possible. What I mean by that is, try not to use last names, where you live, what school your kids might go to etc.... It wouldn't take much for some wierdo to figure out too much about us and our kids. We are on the internet, so we're putting ourselves out there. But obviously there are some risks. Jeff was saying that Nena googled a word and it came back to her blog. So just imagine all the strangers that see it too. It's such a fun way too keep up with what everyone's doing, but bare in mind that family and friends might not be the only one to see your blog! |

Happy Anniversary to us!
Well, Peter and I just celebrated our 5 year anniversary! He surprised me by taking me to the Post Hotel in Lake Louise. I absolutely love it there. We stayed there on our Honeymoon. What a guy, eh? So when we checked in, we went up to the room and there was a card, a bottle of champagne and a plate full of chocolate covered strawberries from the hotel. How nice is that? Well, we each had a strawberry and thought that we would go for a walk along the river and then head down for dinner, save the rest of the strawberries for later. So after our amazing dinner, I went up to the room to call mom (to see how the kids were doing). I noticed that our beds had been turned down and our plate full of strawberries were gone, except for one! What the ....?? I went down and told Peter and he thought that it was funny that the staff got hungry while turning our bed down. Not what you'd expect from that kind of hotel. Anyway, he mentioned it to the front desk and laughed about it. When we got back up to the room, the last strawberry was gone! We had left the patio door open (we were on the 3rd level so thougth it would be safe) to cool off the room. A squirrel had come in and taken our strawberries! Ha, ha ha! We rushed down to let the front desk know that it wasn't the staff. How foolish of us! In the middle of the night I opened my eyes and saw the little bugger standing on the coffee table looking for more strawberries. It scared the heck out of me. Well, that's our story and a funny memory of our 5th!

Here are some pics of our view and a candid one of Peter and I on the river having some fun. We decided that we will go back there every five years to celebrate.

some more weekend photos
Ashley's new nick name is Ashley "Left Eye" Allen. She almost looks a little chinese. Poor thing got my lazy eye.
Peter is suppose to be watching Ashley.
Here are the boys playing and digging in the sand.
A trip to the cabin just isn't the same without a boat ride.

On Golden Pond
So, we had a great weekend! We were invited out to our friend's, the Kirker's, "cabin" in Invermere. Here is Charlie hangin' with his buddy Alex, on the dock. They spent most of the weekend digging in the sand and getting dirty.
Here is a view of the cabin from the dock.
This cabin was more like a lodge, it was so beautiful. We stayed in the main cabin and the Kirker's stayed in the guest cabin. Yup, there is even a guest cabin. How cool is that?
The boys were helping Peter make his signature pancakes (blueberry and raspberry, yum). Check out the forno-pizza oven in the background. I want one!
Here is a view of the cabin from the front yard. It was such a beautiful weekend and it was so nice to get away and come back to the city feeling like a new person.

Stampede Fun!
Here are a few pictures of Charlie at the Stampede. In the pictures it appeared that he was having a great time, but he actually hated most of the day. Peter and I were so pumped to take him and bought him $40 dollars in rides and he only went on 3! What a waste. We now say that "we hate the Stampede and we're never going back!!!" (Not really).

Ride -em cowboy!
| Here's Charlie's attempt at pony riding. I think he had a good time and he wasn't JUST doing it for the cookie. Although it was the big motivater. |

Yeee-Haw!!!!
Howdy Folks! This is us at our first stampede breakfast of the season. The Garrison Woods community put on a great spread. They had ponies and fire trucks, balloons....loud music...lots of good fun. We even got Charlie to ride a pony, but Peter had to bribe him with a cookie. He got off and said "can I have a cookie now?" Life's rough hey? I tell you though, he's really in the stampede spirit. He put his cowboy hat on Thursday and hasn't taken it off since. Well, I hope everyone has a great stampede!

Here are a few recent pictures of Ashley. Mom brought the hat back from Russia. She says that all the little babies wear them!

It's a zoo out there!!!

Today we went to the zoo for a bit. Did you know that a hippo can snap a canoe in half with one big chomp? Good to know!
